Ryan P. Ames, OD MBA

Optometrist



​​​​​​​Dr. Ryan Ames was named one of America’s Best Eye Doctors by Newsweek in July 2021! Dr. Ryan was nominated by his peers in the eye care field and ranked #31 nationally due to his exceptional quality of eye care, great continuity of care and the high quality of technology used in his practice.

Dr. Ryan Ames was born and raised in Oshkosh. He graduated from North High and attended Drake University where he received his BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Philosophy. While completing his undergraduate degree, he performed parasitology research, which was later published, with Des Moines Osteopathic Medical School.

Next, he was accepted in the optometric program at the Illinois College of Optometry. Along with his regular studies, he was a teaching assistant for the ophthalmic optics course. He also received membership into the Gold Key Honors Society. This honor was awarded to less than 10% of his graduating class.

Beyond the required course work, he took elective courses in advanced spectacle prescribing, ridged gas permeable contact lens modifications, and therapeutic injectable medications.

Along with comprehensive eye care, Dr. Ryan has emphasized his practice on specialty contact lenses (including scleral lenses and corneal refractive therapy), glaucoma, and dry eye management. Dr. Ryan also enjoys working with children and has advanced training in pediatrics and binocular vision.

Dr. Ryan is a member of the Lake Cities Optometric Society, the Wisconsin Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, provider for the InfantSEE Program, and active in the Lake Cities Rotary Club.

Brittany Beers, OD

Optometrist



​​​​​​​Dr. Brittany Beers (Glatting) grew up in Oshkosh and attended Oshkosh North High School. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

After graduation, she moved to Memphis, TN to study optometry at Southern College of Optometry. During optometry school, she worked as a tutor to underclassmen and as a teaching assistant for second year courses. Additionally, she enjoyed being able to give back to the Memphis community through participation in events such as school vision screenings, Special Olympics eye exams, and Project Homeless Connect. Dr. Brittany also found a passion for helping patients with eye teaming difficulties and “lazy eye” and spent a full semester of study in Los Angeles focused on this treatment, called Vision Therapy.

Dr. Brittany graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry in 2019 and returned to the Fox Valley to practice optometry at InSight Eye Care in Appleton and Oshkosh, WI. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, serves on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Optometric Association, serves as the President of the Lake Winnebago Society, and leader of the Young OD committee.

Outside of work, Dr. Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, sewing and quilting, participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and cheering on the Badgers.

Hayden Matz, OD

Optometrist



​​​​​​​Dr. Matz is an Oshkosh native, attending Oshkosh West High School and receiving his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. While attending UWO he started his experience in eyecare at Insight, first shadowing Dr. Ryan before working as a technician.

He went on to attend Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale where he graduated with a Doctorate of Optometry. While there, he gained comprehensive eye care experience through an extended externship at the William Kling VA Center, as well as clinical rotations through contact lens, pediatric, and ocular disease centers. During his time in school, he served on the Executive Council for the American Optometric Student Association and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key Honor Societies.

Following graduation, Dr. Matz started his optometric career in Nashville, Tennessee at a private practice that specialized in complex contact lenses. It was there that he honed his proficiency for diagnosis and management of corneal diseases such as keratoconus. He spent over two years gaining extensive experience in fitting specialty scleral contact lenses. He also operated the Dry Eye Center, regularly treating patients for chronic dry eye disease, and maintained a schedule of comprehensive primary eye care.

Dr. Matz is currently a member and volunteer for the American Optometric Association, and is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association. He enjoys spending his free time hiking with his wife Tyler, playing mediocre guitar, and spoiling their miniature dachshund Beans.

Linda Dejmek, OD FCOVD

Neuro-Optometrist



​​​​​​​Dr. Linda Dejmek completed her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and Madison. After graduation, she moved to Bloomington, IN to study optometry at Indiana University School of Optometry. At that time she returned to Appleton, WI to join her father in practice at Appleton Eye Clinic, now InSight Eye Care. She has been practicing primary care optometry since 1978 and began Vision Therapy and Neuro Rehabilitative Therapy in 2004 at A B See Vision Therapy Center, located in Neenah, WI.

At InSight Eye Care, Dr. Dejmek limits her practice to the treatment of patients with vision therapy needs and patients with an acquired brain injury. She treats children with learning problems, turned eyes, diplopia, and amblyopia. She also works with neurological problems affecting the visual system such as concussion, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions affecting the visual system.

Dr. Dejmek has received Board Certification in Vision Therapy from the International Examination and Certification Board (IECB) of the College of Optometrists in Vision Therapy (COVD), and is a Fellow of the College (FCOVD).

Dr. Dejmek has served on numerous boards in the field of optometry including the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry (ARBO), serving two years as President. She has also served on the Federation of Association of Regulatory Boards (FARB), Wisconsin Optometry Examining Board, and was an Examiner on the International Examination and Certification Board (IECB) of the College of Optometrist in Vision Development (COVD).

Dr. Dejmek was selected as the Wisconsin Optometric Association Optometrist of the year in 1995. She was also awarded the Zonta Award in Science and Technology, and listed in the Who’s Who in American Women. She was a medical illustrator for the textbook System for Ophthalmic Dispensing by Dr. Borish and Dr. Brooks.

Outside of work, Dr. Dejmek loves to travel, go fishing, read, and work on her art projects.
